The Past, Present, and Future of digital Piggies and their friends..

A Quick Backstory: Game Studio Good Luck 3 (GL3) created Japan’s 1st Blockchain Game “Crypt-Oink” in 2018, at the time the game was the first of it’s kind, exploring how digital assets, now knows as “NFTs” can be leveraged to create new types of games.

Since 2018 blockchain(s) and blockchain games have grown immensely, birthing new modes of gamification and monetization by combining digital assets and cryptocurrencies aka “tokenomics”. We’ve seen global success stories, hype, fair and unfair criticisms, bull and bear markets, “rug pulls”, and the list goes on..

GL3 has been quite during most of this gaming evolution (revolution?) for numerous reasons: While the Crypt-Oink game was novel and ahead of it’s time, as a more traditional (mobile) gaming studio they were “too early” in a sense, having a hard time keeping pace with what players seemingly wanted..which was to “earn”. Instead, they were always about Finding the Fun and continued to experiment with the quintessentially fun but less profitable aspects of blockchain tech: Interoperability.

So What’s Next? What is Tontachi?

While you won’t hear much from Crypt-Oink moving forward, an affiliate studio called Urban Electronics, Inc. is continuing the spirit of creating innovate games that explore emerging technologies. We’ve jumped off into the deep end to combine Blockchain & Augmented Reality, two technologies that actually appear to be quite complementary to each other. 

Enter Tontachi.

Tontachi stands for “pig friends” in Japanese. It’s able to extend the utility of the original NFT characters “Crypton” into an Augmented Reality-mobile racing game.

“Tons” are your new super cute pig friends awaiting to accompany you. Race and engage with them in fun, rewarding activities that cross over into the real world, right in your own backyard and beyond.

Our official demo is currently playable, but it is “Token-Gated”. This means you need a certain NFT to access the game.
