We took 2024 to develop away from the market. Blockchain gaming is still burgeoning, perhaps more than ever, but we see trends come, go, and resurge again. So, it’s important to us that Tontachi operates from a core.
Our core game loops have improved, with more offerings that integrate GameFi and on-chain rewards.
Let’s break down the latest on what we’re shipping and what we would like feedback on..
Interoperability and Network Effects
tontachiAR is like Mario Kart for a few reasons. One obvious reason is that it’s a branded racing game. The other is that Tontachi is meant to be a collaborative IP-interoperable project. We want more “friends“ to be represented in the game (“Tontachi“ stands for “pigs” or “pig friends” in Japanese). We want to boost utility and community. So, PFP Collections can now be made compatible. Our first two officially supported collections are Torque Squad (Ethereum) of the Motorverse, and AP3 of ApeChain.
If you have a PFP from one of these collections, you can import your wallet and select it as your Driver. Using one will allow you to start collecting Street Cred and Likes for chain-based rewards!
Street Cred - Awarded for doing Races in Augmented Reality (AR). Bonus Street Cred is given for doing Races outside at real locations, so Go Touch Grass!
Likes - Are given for taking “Pigtures”, pictures of Tons taken in the Wild.
Leaderboards
Become top-ranking in Likes and StreetCreds and be rewarded in $REVV and/or $APE tokens!
We’re excited to work with these communities (and more to come!) to roll out the next version of Tontachi and validate our value proposition of amplifying network effects. AR, Geolocation, and Blockchain are all working to make games and communities more tangible in the real world!
