A lot has changed in the world of blockchain gaming, but the more things change, the more they stay the same. Bitcoin is up📈, Ethereum is up📈, and we’re entering another NFT craze📈, circa 2021.
As a web3 game, we always promised to Mint our cute little piggies as digital assets. However, when, where, and how was always the question. Which blockchain and why? Well, folks, it’s about time we answer that question.
After four years of surveying the space, we decided on ApeChain, the blockchain sparked from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), arguably the most prolific web3 IP to date (either them or Pudgy Penguins).
Blockchains are becoming “culture chains“, as Yat Siu, Chairman of Animoca Brands—our first investor in 2021—recently put it. Ironically, what’s more important than decentralized technology itself is the community strength behind it, and how a chain goes beyond tech into other arenas, bleeding into IRL. This echoes where we want Tontachi to go as a project that embraces immersive technologies while striving to be as tangible as possible.
With Tontachi itself being an IP as much as a game, we want to learn from and grow with those who are best doing it within this nebulous space. So yeah, we Ape’d In. 🐷💙🦍
To somewhat mark the occasion, our first Newton will be a Limited Edition “Apeton“ (ApePig). It’ll be our first-ever branded Newton NFT. It also allows us to finally institute something we’ve wanted to do since the beginning of this project: make $BACON!!!!
Apeton are ERC-1155 NFTs with hybrid abilities. 1 Apeton = $1BACON token
Here’s the long and short of it:

- Use an Apeton in tontachiAR for racing in augmented reality for fun and for points

Minting our first Newton is breathing new life into the project, while taking us back to our roots. Fundamentally, we’re a blockchain game exploring new concepts. To the best of our ability, we want Tontachi to have a wide appeal and touch as many people, places, and tech verticals as possible.
